Where To Eat: Say Chiizu, Lavo, Huoyanshaiziniu And Kimme
Insanely stretchy cheese sandwich or a massive half-kilo meatball? Decisions, decisions.
This restaurant and rooftop bar is the first Singaporean venture by the TAO Group, a leading restaurant and nightlife company in the United States, behind successful venues like Avenue in Los Angeles, and the original LAVO locations in New York City and Las Vegas. The Singapore branch is located at the Marina Bay Sands SkyPark, taking over the space formerly occupired by Justin Quek’s Sky on 57. It boasts a 144-seat Italian American bistro, lounge, gelato cart and an outdoor terrace that offers a view of the Singapore skyline. Guests can party late into the night, while entertained by a live DJ set. On the bistro’s menu are dishes like Quattro Formaggi Pizza ($34) topped with fresh mozzarella, gorgonzola, scamorza, and “The Meatball” ($38), a giant orb made with half a kilo of ground imperial wagyu and Italian sausage, then topped with freshly whipped ricotta cheese. For dessert, indulge in the 20 Layer Chocolate Cake ($24), featuring Chocolate Devil’s Food Cake and Peanut Butter Mascarpone. The head chef is an American who has cooked at the original LAVO eateries and also at one of chef Daniel Boulud’s restaurants.
