From Totoro to KPop Demon Hunters’ Rumi, no character is safe from this baker’s oven
A baker on Instagram demonstrates what happens when you place cookies shaped like beloved characters in a scorching oven. The results range from hilarious to horrifying.
Ever wondered what happens if you shoved rotund anime icon Totoro into a blistering oven? Or a furry Labubu? Well, an Instagram user named @kellycookswhat, has been entertaining netizens with funny, sorta creepy before-and-after videos of the elaborate 3D character cookies she bakes.
From cuddly Snoopy and bunnies to the cool protagonist of Netflix animated hit movie KPop Demon Hunters — her large confections turn out looking pretty normal at first in their raw dough form. Kinda impressive, even.
But then, the horror show begins as the dough hits the unforgiving blast of the oven. She showcases the entire process, sped up. From proud and upright, to ignominiously falling over, to spreading out defeated on the hot tray, like buttery lava. The final baked product ranges from comical blobs to grotesque splashes reminiscent of roadkill.
With over 14K followers on Instagram, and 1.2M likes on TikTok, it's safe to say that netizens are hooked.

From half-demon to 100% scary
The animated KPop Demon Hunters may have taken the spot as Netflix’s most watched original film. However, we have a sneaking suspicion that it might not have done quite as well if the movie’s heroine, Rumi, looked like she did after a stint in a fiery oven (see right pic, above).

We know that Snoopy gets into all sorts of adventures. But having Woodstock melted into a permanent macabre embrace probably wasn’t on his cards.
We don’t remember Totoro looking this ‘wide’
Although Totoro did grow in size in Hayao Miyazaki’s classic anime film, we don’t recommend taking a nap on this comically splayed cookie version like four-year-old Mei did in the movie.

If this is Cookie Monster, we don’t wanna see what Elmo looks like
We know many folks find Cookie Monster adorable. However, in this case, we have to say that Oscar the Grouch might just be a tad cuter.
Something about this unicorn doesn’t seem so magical
Growing up, we were told that unicorns were supposed to be magical and elegant creatures. In this case, someone clearly wasn’t telling us the truth. We kinda love the goofy finished product and its googly eyes, though.
Holding on to his carrot till the very end
There’s something admirable about this bunny’s determination to grab on to his carrot, despite becoming an unrecognisable blob after being cooked to a crisp in the oven.
Would you cuddle up with this teddy?
If you can ignore the lone eye of this giant cookie staring directly into your soul, the finished product does not look quite so bad. We think. Then again, would you be able to eat it knowing that it was once a sweet teddy bear?
