Singaporeans are familiar with la mian (hand-pulled Lanzhou-style wheat noodles with a firm, chewy texture), but few have heard of Mianyang noodles from Mianyang in the Sichuan Province. Now, it's available on our shores for the first time at Chuan Hung (which translates to ‘Sichuan Alley’ in Chinese). The five-month-old Sichuan noodle joint at Telok Ayer specialises in handmade Mianyang noodles. It's opened by Chengdu husband-and-wife duo, Liu Bin and He Ning, who also owns hip restaurants Birds of a Feather, Halcyon & Crane and 51 Soho.
