Sushiro To Open First Jurong Outlet

Westies: “Finally.”

Sushiro To Open First Jurong Outlet
Since opening here in 2019, Japanese kaitensushi chain Sushiro has rapidly expanded to 13 outlets in Singapore.

It is popular for its wallet-friendly a la carte and conveyor belt sushi, which explains its presence in almost every part of the island.

First outlet in Jurong

While Sushiro has numerous outlets in the Central and East areas, it only has one Westside outlet, at Lot One mall in Choa Chu Kang.

But that is soon to change, as it will be opening its first Jurong outlet on Mar 5.

The restaurant’s location is pretty surprising: At Big Box in Jurong East, near the linkway to Jem mall. The upcoming eatery still had its hoarding up at press time, with the opening date to be determined.

Big Box started out as a retail mall, but the retail businesses in it have since shut down. The mall was sold for S$118mil in 2022 to real estate developer Perennial Real Estate Holdings, which had plans to redevelop the massive building into a business park.

The mall and its surrounding heartland shopping centres like Jem, Westgate and IMM are part of the upcoming Jurong Lake District, a plan by the Urban Redevelopment Authority to create Singapore’s largest commercial district outside of the CBD.
