Springleaf Prata Place Opens New Cafe With ‘French Toast’ Prata Made By Differently-Abled Staff

The cafe was named “pronto” (speedy in Italian) as it aims to “efficiently train people with disabilities” to man the kitchen and handle the cooking and cleaning.

To help staff with disabilities, special equipment such as automated machines to make teh tarik and mee goreng have been installed in the kitchen.

Pronto Prata’s menu also features a range of unique prata flavours, including an exclusive Prontoast (pictured, $2.50 for one; $4.50 for two), prata ‘French toast ‘ which consists of Springleaf’s signature prata dipped in eggs and milk and pan-fried. You can also add on Chicken Spam ($1) or Peanut Butter ($0.80).

Besides the Prontoast, Pronto also serves an exclusive Mee Siam ($4) and Carrot Cake, which the cafe’s business development manager says is still “under R&D”.

Other than prata French toast, the cafe offers Springleaf’s specialties such as the Praclette, based on the classic Swiss raclette dish which comprises melted cheese scraped onto prata stuffed with turkey ham, black olives, mushrooms and onions.

Another ‘atas’ prata iteration is the Prata Alfredo, which comes with creamy alfredo sauce and mushrooms.

This fancy option is modelled after the German street snack currywurst, and has chicken sausage-stuffed prata topped with curry sauce, mozzarella cheese and onions.

There’s also a murtabak and burger hybrid, which has two pieces of prata cradling a lamb patty with mozzarella cheese, mayonnaise and cabbage.
