SIA Releases More Seatings For Sold-Out Restaurant A380 Dining Experience

At midnight on October 12, Singapore Airlines (SIA) opened the bookings for a lunch dining experience on board its largest A380 aircraft. Within half an hour, all slots for its two-day run on Oct 24 and 25 were sold out.

Named Restaurant A380@Changi, the experience lets customers board the grounded superjumbo jet — the world's largest passenger airliner — for a pre-lunch tour and a three-hour meal. According to SIA, the lunch features its signature international cuisine, as well as a Peranakan menu designed by homegrown chef Shermay Lee.

The experience is part of the national carrier’s Discover Your Singapore Airlines initiative, where customers can still experience flying with SIA despite Covid-19 travel restrictions worldwide.

The seats offered spanned three cabin classes: Economy, Business Class and First Class. It costs $50 for a seat in economy, $90 for premium economy, $300 for business class and $600 for the first class suites (of which only six are available on the plane).

For the dining experience, SIA had deployed two Airbus A380 aircraft. But only half of the seats in each aircraft will be available for dining, in order for the airline to adhere to safe distancing rules.
