It’s only a matter of time that Shake Shack sets up a second branch in Singapore. Its first outlet at Jewel Changi Airport opened in April this year to much fanfare, with fans queuing up to six hours to get a taste of the famous upmarket “fine-casual” American burger chain.
But Changi is still pretty far flung for, say, Westies craving for a ShackBurger. Which is probably why Shake Shack is setting up its second outlet at… (drumroll) 89 Neil Road, a charming shophouse occupying a sweet spot right in the middle of the Keong Saik, Duxton and Tanjong Pagar neighbourhoods. The address was also formerly Tiger Balm's historical factory and eBay’s Singapore headquarters.
8days.sg did some sleuthing and found out the location of the second outlet, which is currently still under renovation. The construction workers at the site confirm to us that it’s a Shake Shack eatery, and renovations will be completed sometime “by the end of December”.

Under construction
The unit is pretty much rubble at this point, but we could see the outline of Shake Shack’s distinctively boxy counter (right in pic), and other similar decorative accents found at the Jewel restaurant.
Stay tuned here as we get more deets from Shake Shack Singapore’s PR rep, but meanwhile check out what’s good to eat at SS here.

Update (December 4): Shake Shack has sent us a press release to announce the opening of their second outlet at Neil Road "in the first quarter of 2020". And good news: the outlet will be open till 12am on Fridays, Saturdays and public holidays (the Jewel Changi Airport branch is open only till 10pm daily).
SS-themed hoarding for the restaurant is now up — per the brand's mission of supporting the arts, the Peranakan tile-inspired hoarding is designed by local artist Sam Lo.
