Property Agent Runs Durian Stall From Parents’ Semi-Detached Home In Pasir Ris
Bao Jiak Durian sells Mao Shan Wang at $17/kg. Do his neighbours complain about the smell?
Every year during durian season, crates of durians are lined up on the porch of Alex Chua’s parents' semi-detached house in Pasir Ris. The 35-year-old PropNex realtor cracks open batches of Musang King, Black Thorn and Raja Kunyit on a makeshift table. From 2pm daily, the family’s front gate is open for walk-in customers, who can place and collect their orders directly from the porch. Yep, he runs an unlikely home-based biz called Bao Jiak Durian.
