Playmade’s Pink Cactus Berries With White Boba Ice Pop Taste Test: Nice Or Not?

The box contains four pops wrapped in the same pretty pink packaging. It works out to $3.25 for one. The gorgeous ice lolly’s main ingredient is pink cactus — a fruit native to Taiwan, known as desert apple, which tastes slightly sour. All mixed together with Playmade’s original white boba, milk and swirled with strawberry puree.

Our first bite of the smooth, creamy sherbet-like lolly is filled with QQ plain tapioca pearls, followed by a strong hit of milk and a slightly tangy aftertaste from the pink cactus and berry swirl. It’s like an even milkier, firmer version of the brand’s Pink Cactus smoothie — with very chewy white boba, pink cactus juice, milk and honey.

Nice. Like a sherbet studded with pleasantly springy pearls. However, while a single pop costs about two bucks cheaper than a regular cup of bubble tea at Playmade, we’re not sure if we want to commit to $12.90 for a box of four.
