New Udon Mookata Moving Out Of Golden Mile Complex To New Location In April
Last May, it was announced that Golden Mile Complex at Beach Road was sold en bloc to a consortium for S$700 million. The change of ownership for the popular late-night supper haunt also prompted the golden question: What will happen to the eateries in the building?A good number of Golden Mile’s F&B tenants told 8days.sg that they were prepared to move out. New Udon Mookata, one of the oldest and most well-known there, also had plans to relocate and open new outlets.
“We’re expected to move [out of Golden Mile] around May or June next year,” its second-gen owner Goh Jin Na, 21, told us in 2021. “We already have plans [to open] in other places — Jurong West and Greenwood Avenue at Bukit Timah. We considered opening in the east side, but we don’t have any plans yet. It will most likely be in Paya Lebar.”
