‘Must Go’ Or ‘Free Then Go’? The Muttons Review MPs’ Fave Mee Siam, Char Kway Teow & More
From Pritam Singh’s mee siam pick to Ong Ye Kung’s curry puff of choice, the Class 95 DJs check out these politicians’ hawker stall recommendations and cast their makan vote.

What’s the one thing that’s close to most Singaporeans’ hearts, aside from the current general elections and rallies ahead of polling day on 3 May? Char kway teow, curry puff and other hawker food, of course. Class 95 DJs The Muttons check out five dishes that these politicians love and tell you if they’re worth your vote.

What The Muttons say: "The mee siam looks very dark, which means they’re not stingy with the ingredients or the lemak in the soup," opines Vernon. The soup is “very sweet, yet very spicy. Good quality and bouncy bee hoon, the flavour is very strong,” he adds.
Overall quite good, however, Justin shares: “I usually like my mee siam to be really sour, almost assam-like, this one doesn’t have enough sour punch for me.”
What The Muttons say: “I actually love the skin [pastry]. [I] hate it when the skin is so thick that you barely get any ingredients. This is a super flaky, thin skin,” comments Justin. “If I have one criticism, it’s not spicy enough – in fact I would go as far to say, not spicy at all!” he adds.
Vernon says the specialty beef curry puff “is a good alternative and slightly spicier than the potato one”, but both agree that the classic plain potato curry puff here rules.
