Margaret Drive Sin Kee Chicken Rice, Jalan Sultan Prawn Mee Among New Michelin Bib Gourmand 2024 Entrants
There are 11 new additions to the Guide this year, including popular Amoy Street fish soup stall Han Kee.
The Michelin Guide Singapore has released its Bib Gourmand list for 2024, and there are 11 new entrants this year. Two eateries, Jalan Sultan Prawn Mee and fishball bak chor mee stall Ru Ji Kitchen, were promoted from the Selected category, which recognises F&B businesses for “above average” food, but not quite reaching the standards required for a Bib Gourmand nod.
9 brand new entrants this year
Other than the two promoted eateries, there are nine brand new names on the Bib Gourmand list. They are:
- Margaret Drive Sin Kee Chicken Rice, the Holland Drive chicken rice stall run by a second-gen hawker whose father started Sin Kee Chicken Rice at Margaret Drive.
- Chef Kang’s Noodle House, which serves Hong Kong-style wonton and char siew noodles.
- Delhi Lahori, a clay oven-cooked naan specialist at Tekka Centre, which is also well-loved for its grilled sausage-like seekh kebab and chicken tikka masala.
- Fico, the booked-for-months Italian restaurant at East Coast Park opened by former one-Michelin-starred restaurant Braci chef Mirko Febbrile.
- Han Kee, the popular fish soup stall at Amoy Street Food Centre known for its rich sliced mackerel bee hoon soup and fish porridge.
- Jason Penang Cuisine, good for its Penang-style assam laksa cooked in yellowtail fish broth.
- MP Thai at Vision Exchange. which Westies in Jurong guard as a hidden gem for its affordable Isaan-style Thai fare. It has two other outlets at Shenton House and 6 Battery Road.
- Song Fish Soup at Clementi 448 Market is also on the list for its robust, cloudy fish soup loaded with sliced and fried fish as well as fish maw.
- Zhup Zhup, which rebranded from its former name One Prawn & Co, serves hearty prawn mee in claypots.
