Make Your Makan Plans With These 3 New Restaurants Now
One of these is a stylo-mylo French-Chinese restaurant.
This chic restaurant within boutique hotel Sofitel’s new property in the CBD offers an interesting mix of French classics and refined local Chinese delicacies. It is the hotel’s signature eatery and helmed by a French executive chef who has worked in several Michelin-starred restaurants in Paris. At Racines, signature dishes include the Cuisses De Grenouille (Frog Legs) served with Pan-Fried Pink Garlic, Parsley and Wild Mushroom Emulsion ($26). The Chinese version of this dish is the Stir-Fried Frog Legs in Spicy Szechuan Salt ($58; serves two), starring frog legs stir-fried in sesame oil and tossed in a Szechuan pepper spice mix. Desserts include a classic French Yuzu Tart ($16), with Japanese citrus custard and a Rice Crispies crumble. Aside from a la carte dinners, Racines also serves weekday set lunches at $38 for three courses.
