1. U-mian dry (Healthier choice), $7
Stall: Xuan Miao
We love our U-mian dry, but the usual suspects — Bak Chor Mee, Fish ball noodles — are often drenched in lard. For a treat without the sin, Veggie Food’s U-mian dry (Healthier choice) will help to scratch that U-mian itch, without adding on the pounds. Have yours with plenty of chilli for extra kick.

True to its stall name, it arrives sizzling in its hot pan and looks Instagram-ready. Break the sunny side up (for protein) with the colourful mix of rice, mushroom, cabbage, carrot, corn kernels and beansprouts. Perfect for your No-meat Monday lunch.

Using their family’s secret recipes, their signature dishes include Ten Tonic Ginseng Chicken Soup and Lotus Root Pork Rib Soup. The soft radish kueh is generously coated in beaten eggs and fried flattened to maximise the surface area for that addictive char. It is served as squares of carrot cake pancake. Very shiok with the sambal chilli. Okay, it’s not exactly the healthiest dish around, but hey, radish is a veggie, isn’t it?
