KFC Offers New Japanese-Style Chicken Katsu Burger And Bonito Fries
American fast food with a Nippon twist.
After launching salted egg yolk sauce-coated fried chook and a (relatively healthier) grilled chicken, KFC is now offering their latest Tori Katsu Burger with a side of Bonito Fries.
“Tori” is chicken in Japanese while “katsu” refers to a cutlet, often breaded.
According to the fast food chain, their limited-edition latest creations are their “homage to the Japanese’s reverence and respect for food”.
The Tori Katsu Burger ($5.50 a la carte) boasts a slab of chicken thigh fillet breaded in-house with crispy Japanese panko breadcrumbs. It’s then topped with shredded white Japanese cabbage, tangy katsu sauce and mayonnaise, all slotted into a sesame seed bun.
Meanwhile, the Bonito Fries ($4.50 a la carte) are also given a Nippon twist: they’re drizzled with the same katsu sauce and mayonnaise, then showered with briny bonito flakes.

The Tori Katsu Burger and Bonito Fries are now available at all KFC outlets while stocks last, except KFC Changi Airport Terminal 1, KidZania and Singapore Zoo.
