Iuiga Sells Snowskin Lava Mooncakes At Online Mooncake Fair, Including Durian Flavour

To get the oozy lava filling flowing, Iuiga recommends heating up the mooncakes in a microwave oven for three to five seconds before cutting them to share. And for a “velvety and richer” flavour, heat the mooncakes up for five to eight seconds.

If you buy ’em via Iuiga’s website, the box of eight mooncakes (two pieces each of the flavour range) costs $39.90 ($36.70 for Gold Tier members, $35.20 for Platinum Tier members).

The e-fair runs from now till October 1 (Mid-Autumn Festival). While mooncake fairs are usually annual calorie fests where one can sample and gorge on mooncakes from different brands, Covid-19 has sadly scuppered that. With mass events involving large crowds a no-no this year, mooncake sellers are shrewdly shifting their sales online.

But this means you don’t have to squeeze with sweaty bodies, and can browse in the comfort of your own home on this e-commerce site (the mooncakes will be sent to your doorstep). It now stocks some 40 mooncake brands, all of which offer the same 15 percent off their retail prices.

There’s also a bulk purchase discount of 17 per cent (which cannot be used concurrently with the 15 percent discount) for orders above $800. But you don’t have to force yourself to load up on just one brand; customers can mix-and-match brands to enjoy the discount. No minimum purchase amount is required for each brand.

Brands that are available at the online fair include old-school bakery Tai Chong Kok (whose traditional baked mooncakes are stocked online here exclusively), Crystal Jade, InterContinental Singapore, Four Seasons Durians, Janice Wong, Old Seng Choong, Thye Moh Chan and TWG Tea. While delivery costs a flat $15, Sinpopo Fairs is offering a 9.9 promotion from September 9-13, where shoppers can get an additional 9.9 percent discount off their orders, plus a $9.90 delivery fee.
