Hot Hawker With Man Bun Serves Superb Fish Soup
His brother and dad, who also work at First Street Teochew Fish Soup, are pretty cute too.

Sexy male hawkers in Singapore are as rare as un-kiasu aunties at a Metro sale. Now, we're not talking about merely attractive fellas, but dudes who are strapping and kinda ripped. Men who cook and drip with masculine magnetism. Okay, so there was that one hunky hawker from carrot cake stall Father & Son in Bukit Panjang Hawker Centre. Now, after searching far and wide, we've finally discovered our second hawker hottie: Aaron Lim (above), 33, from First Street Teochew Fish Soup on Upper Serangoon Road.
His Teochew family’s stall, housed in a small corner kopitiam near Yong’s Teochew Kueh, isn’t new. In fact, it’s almost 30 years old and incredibly popular. Snaking queues form here soon after it opens at 8am, peaking at lunchtime (it closes at 3pm). It's our parents’ favourite fish soup stall, so they’ve doggy bagged the dish for us before. But we’ve not physically been to the stall ourselves — until last week, when we made an impromptu decision to brave the line at noon since we were in the area.
Twenty minutes into our wait, we receive an SMS from our makan kaki, who was lining up at the stall while we choped a table at the kopitiam. “Quick, come over,” reads the message. Bored and hungry, we amble over reluctantly. Our partner is near the head of the queue. “Check out the cook, he’s quite... cool,” he half-whispers. We follow his amused gaze.
