Five Guys Opening Third S’pore Outlet At Ion Orchard
Great news for those who can dine in.
Now that dine-in restrictions have been lifted, there are more F&B openings to look forward to. Like American burger chain Five Guys, which is opening its third Singapore branch at Ion Orchard.
The brand is well-known for its hearty gourmet burgers with fresh handmade patties, hand-cut fries and milkshakes with customisable toppings.
It first arrived here in 2019 with an outlet at Plaza Singapura, followed by a second one at Nex mall in Serangoon.
What to expect
Five Guys’ Ion outlet takes over short-lived Chinese mixian restaurant Honguo. It is located beside Japanese chain Hoshino Coffee (which, incidentally, is also shifting a few units down to occupy a unit vacated by Korean restaurant Seoul Yummy)
Currently under renovation
The upcoming outlet is currently under renovation, with the hoarding in Five Guys’ signature red still up.
It appears to be the chain’s smallest outlet yet; the Plaza Singapura restaurant has about 152 indoor and al-fresco seats, while the Nex branch has half of that capacity with 73 seats. It remains to be seen if the Ion eatery can fit as many diners.
Opening in early 2022
Five Guys’ PR rep confirms with 8days.sg that the Ion outlet will open only in early 2022, and that “the concept remains the same - we focus on ingredients, freshness and quality”.
