LA chain Eggslut landed in Singapore at Scotts Square last year, and it’s opening its second outlet on Dec 1 this year at Suntec City.

Located in the mall’s Tower 4, the 64-seat restaurant will serve the same egg-centric menu and coffee. Like the chain’s signature Slut ($11), potato purée topped with a coddled egg and chives, and the Instagrammable Fairfax Sandwich ($12) with soft scrambled eggs, cheddar and caramelised onions tucked between brioche buns.

Free merch
The first 100 customers at the Suntec outlet on opening day will get a chance to play a “sure-win lucky board” to win Eggslut merchandise like Mini Blocks and memo pads.
And from Dec 2, customers who spend $50 and above will get a free Christmas-themed tote bag while stocks last, featuring artwork by Korean artist Uniquist (his festive Christmas artwork is also now splashed on the walls of Eggslut’s Scotts Square flagship).

For coffee drinkers, the new outlet will stock limited-edition Eggslut Drip Coffee Bags (S$20 for six bags), which is a collaboration with Common Man Coffee Roasters. The Arabica coffee has “notes of dark chocolate, grapefruit and a lingering cocoa” — just add hot water for a cuppa.
Eggslut Suntec City is located at Tower 4 #01-604/605/608/609, 3 Temasek Blvd, S038983. Open daily 8am-9pm. www.eggslutsg.com.

Singaporeans are noticing some unusual-looking names on PayNow after a new anti-scam measure took effect on June 6. The Association of Banks in Singapore has officially discontinued PayNow nicknames, replacing them with partially masked versions of users’ registered account names. The change aims to combat impersonation scams, where scammers could previously use PayNow nicknames to pose as trusted individuals or organisations. While the update enhances security, it has also led to some unintentionally funny name displays — including one Reddit user’s encounter with a PayNow recipient named “MX TAX HOXX SHIXX”. #8dayssg #8dayssgtrending #singapore #scam #sgtiktok
Singapore’s sambar deer were once believed to be on the brink of extinction, with conservationists estimating there may have been as few as three individuals left in the late 1990s. Today, the population has rebounded to around 120 deer across forested areas including Mandai, Gali Batu and Chestnut Nature Park. The remarkable recovery has led to new discussions about wildlife management, as the species has no natural predators in Singapore and its numbers continue to grow. Often called the “ghosts of the forest” due to their elusive nature, sambar deer remain one of Singapore’s least-seen wild animals despite being the world’s third-largest deer species. According to conservationists and wildlife researchers, the challenge is no longer preventing extinction — but ensuring long-term coexistence between humans and a growing deer population. #8dayssg #8dayssgtrending #singapore #sgtiktok #endangeredspecies

A Reddit user recently shared a list of air-conditioned walking routes across Singapore that supposedly allow people to clock 10,000 to 20,000 steps in comfort. Curious, 8days decided to test one of the most popular routes — the “Classic Orchard Trench”, which runs from Somerset to Shaw House through malls and sheltered walkways. Starting with 1,470 steps and ending with 3,209 after 24 minutes, we found ourselves wondering: can Singaporeans really hit their step goals without breaking a sweat? From Orchard Road to Changi Airport and Marina Bay, these indoor walking routes are gaining attention among Singaporeans looking to stay active while avoiding the heat. #8dayssg #8dayssgtrending #walking #singapore #weather
