Durians In Mooncakes

Chilled Mao Shan Wang durian pulp wrapped in a mochi-esque snow skin. The delicately sweet, soft and chewy skin contrasts nicely with the fruit's distinctive bittersweet flavour. Fairly potent and worth the extra calories, even if it’s a tad pricey at almost $10 per tiny piece. The mooncakes are housed in a lovely blue lacquer box that is good for gifting.VERDICT: ***½
Available till Oct 4 at The Ritz-Carlton Millenia Singapore. Tel: 6434-5190. Seven retail points including B2 Takashimaya Square. Order online at www.rcmooncake.com.sg.
