Don Don Donki JCube Boasts First-Ever Sushi Bar & 4 New Eateries From Japan

The always-popular Japanese discount chain Don Don Donki will open its sixth outlet at JCube in Jurong on November 29, Friday (technically, it has a 7th branch in the form of a smaller shop at Changi Airport). Hooray, for those living in the West. The press release says that its newest outlet is a “food specialty store” with Don Don Donki Singapore’s “first sushi bar, live teppanyaki and extended delicatessen food options”. Since our calls to Don Don Donki’s PR folks went unanswered, we can only speculate that the sushi bar and teppanyaki outlets are standalone restaurants and not part of the food court (see below).

Speaking of food court, it will seat 300 pax and have eight stalls. Four of these stalls are new to Singapore brands. Other existing names include ramen shop Tonkotsu King Keisuke, grilled fish joint Sabar (from Japan Food Town in Wisma) and Donki’s very own Sweet Potato Factory, which has outlets in Changi Airport and Clarke Quay. For those thinking of late night shopping, take note that JCube Don Don Donki will not be a 24-hour branch — its doors close at midnight.
