Comforting Okonomiyaki Made With Noodles At Tsuruhashi Fugetsu From Osaka
The popular Japanese savoury pancake chain is worth a visit — if you know what to order.
Osaka comfort food finds its way to our shores. Tsuruhashi Fugetsu is Osaka's largest okonomiyaki restaurant chain with 75 outlets in Japan alone. It’s the latest addition to the Japanese restaurants at food enclave Eat at Seven in Suntec City. The three-month-old joint is headed by Japanese chefs from the brand’s Tokyo branch. Okonomiyaki is a savoury Japanese-style pancake/pizza of sorts. Crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, it’s made from a mix of grated Japanese yams and cabbage in a wheat flour batter, which is then grilled with thin slices of meat and seafood, and slathered with a tangy brown sauce of Worcestershire and soy sauce. And you eat it right off a heated metal pan at your table.
