It's called Ginza Kamo Soba Kyudaime Keisuke.

The Kitaro of the noodle world, Keisuke Takeda, is expanding his noodle empire — this time with a duck ramen concept at Holland Village.

Called Ginza Kamo Soba Kyudaime Keisuke, the restaurant occupies the space above Thai restaurant Thai Express along Lorong Mambong (it formerly housed fusion cafe Mu Parlour and Japanese restaurant Wisteria Heart).

It’s not an entirely new to market brand; the restaurant’s original outlet is in Ginza, Tokyo.

The Singapore branch will serve the same specialty as its Japanese counterpart, which is duck ramen. Don’t be confused by the word ‘soba’ in the shop’s name. In Japan, soba is sometimes used interchangeably with the word ramen.

Each steaming bowl of noodles boasts slices of duck meat from Irish-bred ducks (prized for its higher fat content and juicier flesh).

While we’re kind of excited, this is not exactly the first duck ramen to be offered in Singapore. Rival ramen brand Tsuta introduced duck ramen to its menu late last year. Keisuke's eatery, however, is the island's first standalone ramen restaurant dedicated entirely to the bird.

Here’s hoping the upcoming joint will offer his seasonal bowls here too, such as a delicious-sounding Oyster Miso Ramen, a winter special in Japan.

More updates coming soon.

Ginza Kamo Soba Kyudaime Keisuke will open Mar 3 at 16A Lor Mambong, S277677. www.keisuke.sg.
