Customisable Burrito & Rice Bowl American Chain Chipotle Mexican Grill Coming To S’pore
The famed California-based brand will open the eateries through a joint venture with South Korean food company, SPC Group, which manages Shake Shack in S’pore.
Get ready, burrito lovers – Chipotle Mexican Grill is coming to Singapore. The American fast-casual giant, famed for its build-your-own burritos, bowls and tacos, will open here and in South Korea in 2026 as part of its first-ever push into Asia.
The announcement comes as Singapore gears up for a wave of high-profile food arrivals, including American fried chicken chain Chick-fil-A and South Korea’s Lotteria.
The move is a result of a joint venture with South Korea’s SPC Group, the company behind familiar names like Paris Baguette and Shake Shack in Singapore.

Expect same menu here as in the US
Singapore and South Korea will be the brand’s entry points into the Asian market, marking a milestone for Chipotle, which already operates over 3,800 restaurants across the US, Canada and Europe.
Chipotle’s global chief restaurant officer Scott Boatwright told Bloomberg that customers here can expect the same menu as in the US, just like all its other international outlets. At its core, he said, Chipotle serves “rice, beans and chicken” — a simple, freshly prepared combination he believes resonates worldwide. He added that the chain sees strong potential in Asia, where more diners are seeking convenient but fresh meals.
Founded in 1993, the brand takes its name from the smoky, dried jalapeño pepper – a staple in Mexican cuisine – and has grown into a global powerhouse, even earning a spot on the S&P 500 index in 2011.
Why Singapore?
SPC Group’s executive vice-president Hur Hee-soo calls Singapore and Seoul “ideal entry points” into Asia, citing the group’s success in introducing other international favourites like Dunkin’, Baskin-Robbins and Jamba Juice to South Korea.
Chipotle’s Scott Boatwright added: “Real food prepared fast is in high demand. With strong brand awareness and the convenience-driven dining market in Asia, we see tremendous potential for growth here.”
