Bakery That Binned Failed Delivery Explains Why It Sent Customer ‘Garbage’ Photo
It was also the first time that they had to trash their undelivered eclairs.
A local dessert cafe caught flak for discarding a failed éclair delivery and sending its customer a photo of the binned pastries. The photo, which was forwarded to Stomp, showed a paper bag with the éclairs from L'éclair Pâtisserie in a garbage bin.
L'éclair’s customer had initially ordered the delivery to be sent as a birthday surprise to a colleague named Jasmin. The deliveryman had attempted to call Jasmin four times in 11 minutes, but could not get through to her. He was also apparently unable to contact the original sender, and ended up throwing away the delivery at L'éclair’s instructions.
