Three years ago, Shannon Lua had big plans for her bakery chain Butter Studio. “We were in a good place. Business was pretty steady and we were looking at ways to increase our growth and deepen our customer reach,” says the 38-year-old, who launched her brand in 2012. Then Covid happened and triggered a series of obstacles for F&B business owners like her.
For Shannon, thankfully, “staying nimble” and “maintaining accessibility to customers” have proved successful in riding out the pandemic – she’s kept all four Butter Studio outlets open and is now exploring expansion plans for her business.
