Bagel 'Burger' & Chicken Porridge On Texas Chicken’s New Breakfast Menu

This hearty platter heaves with a bagel, chicken sausage patty, chicken bacon and scrambled eggs. The dense bagel is best smeared with the accompanying butter, strawberry jam and cream cheese. The eggs were agreeably soft and silky, but do sprinkle on a touch of salt and pepper (which was provided on the side anyway). Meanwhile, we liked the peppery, flavourful chicken sausage patty, which we find somewhat yummier than most other famous fast food joints’. As for the chicken bacon (the chain in Singapore is halal-certified)? Well, it’s more ham-like than bacon-like and a bit too sweet. The platter comes with a choice of hash brown or Texas Chicken’s signature honey-butter biscuit.

The porridge cooked with ginger and garnished with green onions and a dash of sesame oil was surprisingly tasty if slightly watery. Our only grouse? The bits of chicken topping it were pretty dry.

This features two pancakes, scrambled eggs, chicken sausage, toasted muffins and your choice of either hashbrowns or their signature honey biscuits. Or if that option is a little too heavy for you, get the Sunny Pancake with Sausage ($5.90) sans toasted English muffins (you can also get a version of this without the sausage for $5.30). The pancakes come with butter and honey for drizzling.

Breakfast bagel 'burgers' don’t seem all that common a menu item in fast food chains here, so if you want something a little different, give this a shot. Texas Chicken offers two varieties: Ham & Egg Bagel starring ham, scrambled eggs and cream cheese wedged within a split toasted bagel. The Sausage Bacon & Egg Bagel is similar, with chicken sausage and bacon instead of ham.
