Award-Winning Fries From Holland Coming Soon To Holland Village
Martin Zwerts from the Netherlands will serve its signature chunky fries with 11 different toppings.
The latest foreign food brand to come to Singapore is this fried potato shop from the Netherlands. This Dutch snack store from the city of Eindhoven was established in 1948, and according to its website, “widely recognised as the No.1 frites in Netherlands for 8 years in a row” as it had constantly won a local fries competition called Frietopia. It will open its first overseas outlet in Holland Village on April 27 (fries from Holland in Holland V, ha ha).
Neat Spuds
The speciality here is fat fries featuring Dutch potatoes that are sliced using a special hand-cranked machine in the Holland flagship store, frozen, then flown to Singapore. Each batch is freshly fried upon order and served in a paper cone, then dolloped with your choice of topping. They’re cooked according to founder Friture Martin Zwerts’ family recipe.
Top It Off
This well-loved Dutch street snack will be paired with 11 types of toppings here, including locally-inspired ones like Golden Salted Egg Yolk Sauce and Rendang Sauce, on top of traditional Dutch ones, such as Garlic Frite Sauce and Meat Sauce. The frites are available in two sizes: small ($5.50) and large ($6.50). Sauces are charged separately, from $1. Besides fries, a few other Dutch snacks like the Bitterballen, crispy beef croquettes, will also be served.
