$25 Champagne Mille Crêpes & $19 Bubbly At Lady M’s First-Ever Champagne Bar
There’s also a two-tiered afternoon tea set exclusive to this Ion Orchard outlet.
Lady M’s sixth outlet at Ion Orchard opened its doors on June 21, with a rather luxe reimagining of the brand’s signature mille crêpes. Instead of its standard popular crêpe and coffee combo, the brand – having just passed its nine-year mark in Singapore – is offering up swish Champagne-infused mille crêpes. Along with that, bubbly by the glass or the bottle ($109), though you might want to save the latter for when dine-ins are for more than two.
The eatery, which occupies the space where French dessert house Henri Charpentier outlet used to stand, also serves an expanded menu of Lady M’s oft-neglected savoury options. The décor’s all white marble, with upholstered seating and rose gold accents (a departure from their usual all-white livery).
Champagne Mille Crêpes, $25 a slice
Longtime fans of the New York crêperie might’ve tried this luxe dessert back when it was a holiday special in 2019 (it was going for $16 a slice back then), but there’s an atas tweak to justify the price difference now.
While both feature no less than 20 layers of the brand’s handmade, wafer-thin crêpes, interspersed with strawberry-infused pastry cream, the 2021 edition sees a crown of gelee (that’s “jelly” in French lah) infused with Bruno Paillard Champagne’s Rosé Première Cuvée Extra Brut. Celebrated late French chef Joël Robuchon used to pair some of the champagne house’s bubbly with his dishes. This pink champagne was chosen for its red fruit taste profile, to complement the strawberries in the mille crêpe. It’s quite a step up from Lady M’s other mille crêpe offerings, which start from $14 a slice (regular flavours also available here on top of the single champagne-tinged offering).
Have some bubbly too
This being a champagne bar, it’ll be remiss not to order a flute to sip on, no? Their list of 34 bottles is dominated by Bruno Paillard Champagnes (from $19 for a Première Cuvée Extra Brut by the glass; $109 for bottle), but there’s also non-sparkling wine from $12 a glass. Tea and fruit juice are available as well for the young ‘uns and teetotallers.
Chilled Caviar Angel Hair, $40
Lady M’s not exactly known for their savoury items, though it seems they’re hoping to change that impression at their Ion Orchard boutique. There are two swish new seafood-centric pastas on offer. This one stars capellini tossed in a housemade shio kombu dressing and topped with European caviar and chives (pictured). There’s also a robust Maine lobster fettuccine a la alfredo ($32). Are these pasta worthy of their prices? The jury’s still out on that.
Lady M Afternoon Tea, $60 per pax (minimum two)
An afternoon tea experience that comes with all the bells and whistles. Think booze, multi-tiered stand brimming with tartlets and a tea trolley. Posh.
The tartlets comprise a selection of five savoury bites, such as open-faced lobster toast and truffle-spiked cream crab tartlet. Then there’s a quintet of sweets – champagne mille crêpe included. Tea parties aren’t complete without a steaming pot of tea and a flute of Première Cuvée Extra Brut for each diner, included in the set. Only available on weekends from 17 July, with seatings at noon and 3pm.
