Everyone loves pancakes. And judging from its ubiquity all over Instagram, it seems like no one can resist a towering stack of extra jiggly soufflé pancakes. Fat, quivering discs that are so cute they're almost cartoonish. Question is: does it taste anywhere as good as it looks? Well, Gram Café & Pancakes' version, which ranks pretty high on the social media popularity scale, certainly qualifies as food porn. It invariably pops up on our Insta feed whenever we scroll through foodie accounts. The five-year-old Osaka-born pancake chain is regarded as one of the pioneers of the Japanese soufflé pancake and behind the ensuing craze for it. It boasts over 60 outlets across Japan, including outposts in Hong Kong, Thailand and even the USA. This June, it will open a branch in Singapore, at VivoCity.
