This Blue Christmas Turkey From Indonesian Restaurant Rumah Rasa Is Stuffed With Indomie

Would you try it?

A turkey has escaped from Avatar’s world and somehow ended up in the kitchen of Indonesian eatery Rumah Rasa. This might explain why there’s a bright blue bird at the restaurant’s festive Christmas buffet ($48 per pax for lunch; $68 per pax for dinner) this year. This Na’vi pet, er, we mean turkey, is apparently dyed blue naturally with butterfly pea flowers before it’s roasted tandoori-style in a hot clay oven.

The turkey’s colour is not the only thing that, excuse us, blue us away. Because Rumah Rasa serves Indonesian nosh, the turkey is stuffed with Indomie instant noodles. Here is the description we were sent: “The Indomie is folded into bread, soaked in milk and tossed with Indonesian herbs and spices before being served as the turkey stuffing”. Never mind that blue is a colour that's well-known for suppressing appetites; everyone likes Indomie, right?

And fun fact: this is the same restaurant that once served fried Indomie coated with breadcrumbs and shaped into nuggets.
