Sindy Durian Now Has Orchard Outlet With Shiok Mao Shan Wang Ice Cream

During durian season, Sindy Durian is one of the popular shops that Singaporeans flock to to enjoy the king of fruits. The family-owned takeaway stall at Whampoa Drive in Balestier is founded by its eponymous owner Sindy Wong and her husband, and the couple run the business with their four kids. The shop is devoid of frills — save for a couple of makeshift dining tables, you’re expected to only buy your bags of durians and go. The service is apparently notorious; our colleague who had bought durians from Sindy complains about the “grouchy and ya ya” service, though we also hear that the staff is much friendlier with their regulars.
