Old Chang Kee’s Nasi Lemak Curry Puff Taste Test: Nice Or Not?

We devoured two Nasi Lemak Curry Puffs — a soggier one we collected at an Old Chang Kee shop, and a freshly fried one delivered by OCK's HQ. Click arrow on the right for our verdict.

We’ve had McDonald’s Nasi Lemak Burger in 2017, and this year, Old Chang Kee unleashed another hybrid snack that’s destined for Insta-viral status: the Nasi Lemak Chicken’O Curry Puff.

Think OCK’s popular, fat curry puff that had its filling replaced with nasi lemak ingredients like sambal slicked curry chicken chunks, peanuts, ikan bilis and a wedge of hard-boiled egg.

Within hours of its launch yesterday (March 1), the curry puff ($2 each; $3.50 for two) was sold out at the OCK outlets in Buona Vista and Jem that we visited.

We managed to sample the curry puff twice. Once last night, and another time this afternoon. And boy were the results different. View photo gallery above for our verdict.
