New Restaurant: Platform 1094
This isn’t quite the Three Broomsticks pub, but it is still a Harry Potter-themed cafe. Sort of. (A version of this story first appeared in Issue 1371, Jan 23, 2017.)
Platform 1094 Interior
In case you were wondering, the numbers 1094 weren't mentioned in the books. Instead, they refer to the café’s Serangoon address. This rustic eatery is opened by the folks behind Fresh Fruits Lab in Changi, a bar and bistro that incorporates fruity elements in their dishes. Since the cafe is not officially licensed by the book/movie franchise, the Harry Potter references here are quite minimal. But at least there are rustic wooden beams on the ceiling, candelabras, and props like wands for patrons to snap pictures with.
Crab Meat Aglio E Olio
Main courses include the butter-tossed Crab Meat Aglio E Olio ($17), topped with crabmeat, smoked salmon and flying fish roe. Wash it down with a fun cocktail called the Goblet of Fire ($15), a concoction of blue curacao liqueur, rum and cinnamon powder, served in a flaming goblet.
