New Restaurant: One Night Only

A new American diner by the folks behind Muchachos. (A version of this story first appeared in Issue 1371, Jan 23, 2017.)

The people behind Muchachos and The Daily Cut have opened this 36-seat joint serving “American diner classics” in a River Valley shophouse (formerly Tony’s Pizza). The name came about as the owners embarked on a road trip across 13 cities in the States as research for their new restaurant, and found themselves “repeating the line ‘one night only’ when hotel receptionists ask us how long we were staying with them”. The signature dishes here are sinful comfort grub like the Nashville Hot Chicken ($12; above pic) and Chicken-Fried Steak ($27). Both come with two choices of sides, such as biscuits and gravy, and cornbread. There are also brunch picks like Maple Bacon Pancakes ($16.50). The kitchen here is helmed by a head chef who has worked at Muchachos and The Daily Cut.
