Monga Fried Chicken Opening First Dine-In Outlet In S'pore Serving New Bento Sets

The SingPost Centre eatery is also the first and only Monga outlet in the world to offer Monga Fried Chicken Bento Sets, which has “chicken rice paired with fried chicken”. You can choose either Monga’s two-piece Crispy Fried Chicken or the six-piece Monga Nuggets to go with your chicken rice, which is served with a side of achar and a new house-made Hot Chili Sauce that’s “made especially for those who love their spicy sauces”. The sauce will also be available at Monga’s three outlets from March 9.

The chicken rice bento sets came about as Monga’s owner, Taiwanese comedian Nono, calls Hainanese chicken rice his favourite Singaporean dish. And chicken rice is apparently the first in a series of local dishes that Monga is planning on offering; a press release on the outlet’s opening adds that there will be “other exciting [dishes] in the pipeline”. Ooh.

Other than bento sets, Monga’s outlets will also start serving bundle options for their Fried Crispy Chicken — you can order it in two, three, five, and nine-piece bundles with accompanying “Japanese-sauce salad and Sweet Potato Fries”.

For its opening, Monga SingPost Centre is having a promotion from March 10 to 15 where you can top up just 10 cents to get chicken rice and a drink with any purchase of a Monga Fried Chicken Cutlet.

Nono is also slated to fly in for the store opening and media preview on March 9, 11am, and will make an appearance at the shop. But this is only tentative, as the press release states that “Nono’s appearance for the media preview may be subjected to change due to the COVID-19 situation in Singapore." Oh nono.
