McDonald’s Rolls Out Rendang Sedap Angus Beef Burger For National Day
The fast food chain brings back an old fave — but with a twist.
If you’ve missed the Rendang Burger that was last seen on McDonald’s menus circa 2013, then you’re in luck.
The chain has just rolled out a new and improved version of it called the Rendang Sedap Angus Beef Burger (from $6.95 a la carte), to celebrate National Day.
It soft launches today and is available while stocks last.
What’s new about it? Well, the beef patty just got an upgrade. Instead of regular meat, it’s now a fancier “100% Angus beef patty dipped in a rich, mouth-watering rendang sauce made from a blend of coconut milk, ginger, kaffir lime, lemongrass, onion, garlic and spices”.
Also new: it’s now crowned with a fried egg, plus grilled onions. All tucked between Ronald McDonald’s classic sesame seed buns, of course.
We tried the burger — while the addition of fragrant sautéed onions and fried egg make this burger hearty and as fun to eat as the Nasi Lemak Burger, we find the angus beef patty a tad dry and could do with more rempah oomph.
The Rendang Sedap Angus Beef Burger is available now at all McDonald’s outlets and also via McDelivery and Grab Food, while stocks last.
