After opening its first outlet at Ion Orchard last August, Joy Luck Teahouse has been on an expansion frenzy. Conceptualised by ex-TVB producer Robert Chua, the Hong Kong-style takeaway cha chaan teng chain is popular for its egg tarts, bolo buns and milk tea, which are made with recipes from famed HK eateries like Hoover Cake Shop and Kam Kee Cafe.

Come March 31, it will launch a beverage-centric offshoot concept at Funan called Joy Luck Yum Sing, which sells “Hong Kong-style bubble tea” like nai cha with pearls and egg tarts.
