The quirky folks of Tiong Bahru Bakery are hosting an even quirkier picnic this Saturday and Sunday (July 8 and 9): Weird Wonderful World, a two-day affair at the Singapore Botanic Gardens. There will be lots of bites from pop-up stalls set up by TBB, sister restaurants Open Door Policy, House, Open Farm Community and cuppas from Common Man Coffee Roasters.
If you prefer a neatly packed picnic basket without actually having to pack anything, grab a special TBB one (from $50 to $200). While the picnic 'buckets' are available for sale at the event, pre-ordering one will get you a free Tiong Bahru Bakery tote bag. The $50 bucket feeds two people and comes with sandwich options like a ham and butter baguette, baked items such as chocolate croissants, and a dessert. There’ll also be orange juice, mineral water, a small mat, two fans and a helium balloon.
Then work off those calories post-meal by taking part in retro games such as Giant Twister, or yoga classes.
The Weird Wonderful World picnic runs July 8 and 9, 9am to 8pm. Entry is free. For more details, visit tiongbahrubakery.com, or e-mail: enquiries@tiongbahrubakery.com
