Eng’s Wantan Noodle Opens Its First Mall Outlet At Simei's Eastpoint Mall

Prices remain the same despite its fancier setting.

Popular wonton mee eatery Eng’s Wantan Noodle opened its first ever shopping mall outlet today at the basement of Eastpoint Mall. The original shop at 287 Tanjong Katong Road was started by the late hawker Ng Ba Eng as a stall at Dunman Food Centre in the ’70s. It’s now owned by the folks behind the Lao Huo Tang restaurant chain, who told us they had decided to set up an outlet in a heartland mall near an MRT station to make it more “convenient” for customers to grab a bite “instead of going all the way to Tanjong Katong Road”.
