Salted Egg Yolk Shrimp Cheeks, A Weird But Wonderful Snack You Should Try

Move over, fish skin. The latest It snack in town stars another type of sea creature: shrimps and their ‘cheeks’. We know you’re wondering. What in the world are shrimp cheeks? Do shrimps even have cheeks? But we’ll get to that in a bit.
Currently, only two snack brands in Singapore offer shrimp cheeks though there are many others overseas, especially in Thailand. There’s the bizarrely named salted egg yolk-coated Brainless Shrimp Cheek, which is produced in Singapore by local company Star Chew, and Monori Crispy Ebi Cheeks Snack, which is Thai-made but distributed by local snack distributor Sansesan (which also brings in the popular Taokaenoi seaweed packs in Singapore).
