Xin Tekka Food Hall Closing After 8 Months, Artbox & Shilin Night Market Operator May Take Over
Stalls like the popular Pang’s Hakka Noodles by ex-Antoinette chef Pang Kok Keong are affected.
After less than a year in business, food hall Xin Tekka is calling it a day on April 30, 2021. The ambitious food court opened to much fanfare in July 2020, and is the largest of its kind in the historical Tekka neighbourhood. Spanning two floors with 180 seats, it’s located at Tekka Place, a mall formerly known as The Verge.
It also boasts a list of well-known F&B brands as tenants. This includes Pang’s Hakka Noodles, a yong tau foo noodle stall by ex-Antoinette chef Pang Kok Keong, Alhambra Satay (which has been around since the Satay Club days in the ’60s), Joo Chiat Eurasian-Peranakan eatery Casa Bom Vento and Rong Guang Seafood, which shifted over from Gluttons by the Bay.
