Two hawker stalls, Hill Street Tai Hwa Pork Noodle and Hawker Chan, retained their one star each.

Odette & Les Amis Win Coveted Three Stars In The Michelin Guide Singapore 2019

Who said fine-dining is dead? The list of star winners for the Michelin Guide Singapore 2019 is out, and our island finally has not one, but two three-star eateries since Joël Robuchon shuttered his Joël Robuchon Restaurant at Resorts World Sentosa last June. In fact, Robuchon was Singapore’s sole three-starred winner (the highest accolade for the awards) until he passed away last year — so this meant there were no three star-rated eateries in last year's edition of the guide, which first made its appearance here in 2016.

This year's freshly-minted three-star winners are the relatively young modern French restaurant Odette, which opened in late 2015, and stalwart French fine-diner Les Amis. The latter has managed to stay relevant despite being one of the first — if not the first — swish European restaurants in Singapore’s fledging dining scene in 1994.

The 2019 winners were announced at a gala dinner at the Capella Singapore hotel.

A total of 37 eateries won one star each, with nine new entrants: Basque Kitchen by Aitor, Buona Terra, Cheek Bistro, Restaurant Jag, Lerouy, Restaurant Meta, Table 65, Terra and Vianney Massot Restaurant (formerly the one Michelin starred Bacchanalia).

Five eateries won two stars, including two newcomers: Saint Pierre and Zen.
