The Golden Duck Launches New Salted Egg Crab And Chilli Crab Seaweed Tempura Chips
Apparently, there’s real crabmeat in it.
The Singapore Chilli Crab Seaweed Tempura ($7 for a 110g pack) is spiked with bits of crabmeat, crab stick, chilli flakes and dried coriander.
Homegrown snack brand The Golden Duck, which started out offering salted egg yolk potato chips and fish skin crisps, has introduced two fun new tidbits to its product squad: seaweed tempura in two very local flavours, Salted Egg Crab and Chilli Crab.

Meanwhile, the Salted Egg Crab Seaweed Tempura ($7) is coated with crabmeat, salted egg yolk, curry leaves and dried chilli.
The two new flavours will be launched on September 28 at The Golden Duck’s nine retail outlets.
Incidentally the brand has also changed its packaging, so don’t be confused when you see it on the shelves. We’re on the fence about it — we kinda miss its cleaner, quirkier old design.
But it’s what’s on the inside that counts. So watch this space for our taste test soon.
