These days, Melissa Lim wears a T-shirt and shorts to work. After a decade of being a secondary school science teacher, the 35-year-old has traded her officewear and comfy air-conditioned work environment for the heat and chaos of a hawker stall. In May this year, she quit her teaching job and started working alongside her hawker dad, David Lim, 62, who runs the popular 25-year-old Empress Place Teochew Beef Kway Teow stall.
