Class 95 DJs The Muttons Open Hip Roast Meat Restaurant Called Fook Kin
Nope, no mutton served there — just char siew, sio bak and roast duck.
Try to tell your friend this with a straight face: “Let’s get to Fook Kin.” But get your dirty mind out of the gutter — Fook Kin is the day-old modern Chinese roast meat restaurant co-owned by Class 95FM deejays The Muttons, aka Justin Ang, 36, and Vernon A, 46. The duo already have shares in FatBoy’s The Burger Bar outlets, having partnered Fatboy’s owner Bernie Tay to set up shop.
And now, the burger squad has teamed up with the folks at Old Airport Road Food Centre hawker stall Roast Paradise to open the cheekily-named Fook Kin, which specialises in the stall’s Kuala Lumpur-style Cantonese roast meat.
Roast Paradise is run by two young hawkerpreneurs, one of whom had parlayed recipes from his family’s roast meat business in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, into a hawker biz. They also have another stall in Ang Mo Kio.
