Muslim-Owned Hawker Stall In Bukit Canberra Sells $3 Putu Piring Alongside $18 Steak
Fancily-designed Bukit Canberra Hawker Centre, which opened in Sembawang last December, is home to a number of exciting new stalls including home-based biz turned hawker joint Liu Kou Shui. Here’s another contender vying for your stomach space: Muslim-owned Bege Rack, a hawker stall which at first glance, appears to be shared by two separate brands (there’s also ‘Chong Pang Putu Piring’ at the bottom of its storefront). As it turns out, the stall is run by the same hawker, Muhammad Syarafuddin, 33, who peddles both putu piring (Malay steamed rice flour cakes stuffed with melted gula melaka and served with grated coconut) as well as burgers and steaks.
