Foodie Friday: What The Stars Ate This Week (Nov 12-19)
All the photos that made us hungry this week.

This week, Thomas Ong indulged in one of his fave hae mee (check out the generous amount of pork lard!), Pan Lingling and Chen Xiuhuan checked out a new Teochew fish soup stall, and looks like Justin Ang may have just found his doppelganger in Old Chang Kee’s latest seasonal puff. Read on for deets.

Thomas Ong
What he ate: Prawn mee
Yummy factor: The mouthwatering bowl of hae mee Thomas shared on Instagram tempted his followers so much, several left comments asking for the stall's name and location (looks like Ah Sai Pork Rib Prawn Noodle, which the actor is a fan of). Well, it’s hard not to crave for some, especially with that generous amount of prawns and crisp pork lard garnishing the noodles.

Bryan Wong
What he ate: Rojak
Yummy factor: Although Bryan and MasterChef Singapore alumnus Gen Lee spent hours under the blazing sun filming for variety show Old Taste Detective 3, they were duly rewarded with yummy old-school rojak served the traditional way — having it al fresco and wrapped in leaves.

Jamie Yeo
What she ate: Dim sum, pizza and more
Yummy factor: There’s really no reason to dine out when you can have just about everything you crave for delivered to your doorstep. For Jamie, that means dim sum, fried beef kway teow, pizza, and even a slice of carrot cake from Baker & Cook. She sure looks like she can't wait to dig into them.

Pan Lingling and Chen Xiuhuan
What they ate: Teochew fish soup
Yummy factor: Thanks to former Mott 32 head chef Dee Chan's recommendation, the ladies met up for some comforting fish soup, as well as lala porridge, from Chao Zhou Teochew Fish Soup in an Ang Mo Kio kopitiam. We bet it was shiok to have their hearty dishes served in Teochew-style claypots — they would have kept the soup and porridge warm till the last drop.

Yvonne Lim
What she ate: Homemade noms
Yummy factor: From kueh dadar to Korean streusel bread and yakitori, Yvonne has been busy whipping up homemade goodness while her kids were in school. She even found the time to bake a birthday cake adorned with piped cream flowers for a friend. How sweet.

Justin Ang and Vernon A
What they ate: Old Chang Kee’s latest creation
Yummy factor: ...And that’s the adorable Panda Mala Chicken’O puff, created to celebrate Singapore’s first giant panda cub’s first 100 days. The Muttons got to try the crisp treat before it’s official one-day-only release this coming Sunday (Nov 21), and Vernon couldn’t help but notice how much the panda curry puff resembles Justin. What do you think?

Hong Zhaorong and Carole Lin
What they ate: Hor fun and toast
Yummy factor: Carole and Zhaorong enjoyed a picnic in the park, where they indulged in hor fun, toast and cuppas of hot milk tea. And they even got a slice of cheesecake for dessert. Talk about attention to detail.

Fann Wong and Christopher Lee
What they drank: Yamazaki 55 Year Old with their omakase
Yummy factor: Fann and Chris got first dibs on the rare Japanese whisky at a tasting session held at Ren Lounge. Not only is it House of Suntory’s oldest release till date, there are only a hundred bottles available outside of Japan, of which four are in Singapore.

Chantalle Ng
What she ate: Milkshake at Joji's Diner
Yummy factor: It sure seems like Chantalle loves a good milkshake after a hard day’s work — although who wouldn’t? Well, she’s definitely into her Strawberry Paddlepop shake, with lots of whipped cream and edible rainbow sprinkles.

Seow Sin Nee and Juin Teh
What they ate: Minion-themed nosh
Yummy factor: A visit to the Minion Cafe for #JustSwipeLah saw foodies Sin Nee and Juin trying all things bello-licious — think Scallop Minion Pizza, Minion Pumpkin Mantou with chilli crab sauce, and even a Minion Banana Boat for dessert. And of course, their beverages had to be inspired by the Despicable Me characters too. Check out their review.

Patricia Mok
What she ate: Hawker fare
Yummy factor: Cycling for hours surely worked up Pat’s appetite. She stopped by Bedok Food Centre for a late dinner of sugar cane juice, chicken satay and fried Hokkien mee with lots of sambal belacan on the side.

Bonnie Loo
What she ate: Comfort food
Yummy factor: Bonnie’s lunch was nothing short of indulgent. Aside from a hearty burger with what looks like fried chicken, scrambled egg, cheese, and lots of fries, she also had room for a waffle with ice cream and chocolate sauce. Yum.

You Yi
What she ate: Beef noodles
Yummy factor: In case you were wondering why You Yi is beaming so widely, it’s because she’s a huge fan of beef noodles, especially when it’s a hearty combination of springy Chinese-style la mian, braised beef, soft tendon and more.

Michelle Wong and Fang Rong
What they ate: Healthy lunch
Yummy factor: The girlfriends’ leisurely lunch at Trapeze Rec. Club’s Canteen saw them tucking into healthy eats like yoghurt bowls with peanut butter and jelly, as well as sourdough toast with hummus and avocado — perfect with their iced coffees on a warm day.

Apple Hong
What she ate: Hairy crabs
Yummy factor: Apple just had to have her fave hairy crabs one last time before the season for these roe-filled crustaceans concludes. And she managed to do so at Chinese resto Shang Social, along with small bites like braised gluten, smoked fish and drunken chicken.

Kimberly Chia
What she ate: Cable car dining
Yummy factor: Kimberly, who is expecting her first child, has always wanted to experience dining in a cable car, and finally got to do so this week to celebrate a special occasion — her husband’s birthday. Drinks and delicious grilled salmon bentos aside, the picturesque views of Sentosa were a winner as well.

Chen Xiuhuan
What she ate: Century egg congee
Yummy factor: This week, Xiuhuan recreated a dish from her childhood — century egg congee with meatballs and goji berries. It was a staple cooked by her mum, and even Xiuhuan’s daughters love it. This time, however, she decided to pair it with fried dough fritters for added crunch and texture. And from the looks of it, it was a welcome change.

Hayley Woo
What she ate: Brunch
Yummy factor: Sunday is all about taking things down a notch and relaxing. And for Hayley, that means heading out for a sumptuous brunch — think grilled sausages, mash, eggs and greens — and a cup of Joe.

Joanna Dong
What she ate: French cuisine
Yummy factor: Joanna celebrated her 40th birthday with fine French eats at La Dame de Pic, where she indulged in everything from an exquisite sea urchin tartlet to Breton lobsters and berlingots filled with cheese fondue. What a real treat it must have been.

Kunhua
What he ate: Burger and fries
Yummy factor: Kunhua checked out new burger joint Out of the Bun and was pretty impressed with his Pulled Chick burger which came stuffed full with juicy slow-cooked cooked chicken, fresh lettuce and sweet-tangy slaw. Plus, it’s hard to say no to truffle fries.

Carla Dunarearu
What she ate: Italian food
Yummy factor: The Kin actress and her husband Boom Gonzalez had a dinner date at Italian restaurant Lino, and looks like they both enjoyed the menu for the night — smoked salmon trout and smoked scamorza cheese, tender Italian roast chicken, garganelli with lamb ragout and more.
