Foodie Friday: What The Stars Ate This Week (Mar 26-Apr 2)
All the photos that made us hungry this week.

This week, Zoe Tay and her hiking pals like Tracy Lee, Terence Cao and Vincent Ng made a pit stop at Adam Road food centre for some yummy hawker nosh, Allan Wu enjoyed a lunch date with daughter, Sage, and Joanne Peh put together some Easter baskets for friends. Meanwhile, Zed Lee couldn’t wait to get his hands on the seafood he grilled by himself (under mama Fann Wong’s strict supervision, of course), and Desmond Tan had a candlelit dinner for a special reason. Read on for more.

Zoe Tay, Hong Zhaorong, Chen Xiuhuan, and Tracy Lee
What they ate: Hawker eats
Yummy factor: Right after their hike at Bukit Brown Cemetery, the ladies brought their new workout buddies — Vincent Ng and Terence Cao — to Adam Road Food Centre for some hearty eats. Highlights include yummy bowls of prawn noodles with pig skin, fried carrot cake and nasi lemak to share — talk about a heavy meal.

Mark Lee
What he ate: Dim sum
Yummy factor: Mark had the pleasure of biting into piping hot egg tarts and flaky chicken sou from Ipoh casual diner Nam Heong — his latest F&B venture — and we can only imagine how shiok it must have been to savour these freshly-baked goods, especially the sou with its golden brown crust.

Joanne Peh
What she ate: Easter-themed macarons
Yummy factor: Despite her packed schedule, Joanne managed to squeeze some time out to put together Easter baskets for friends. The gift baskets — inspired by her kids Baby Qi and Qi Didi — include treats from online bakery Baked by Wolf like egg-shaped macarons in the sweetest shades of baby blue and pink, stickers, jelly, tea, as well as a self-illustrated card. Pity they are not for sale, though she might change her mind if there's demand for it.

Chantalle Ng
What she ate: Chilli crab
Yummy factor: It’s probably Chantalle’s first time enjoying chilli crab with ciabatta bread and zesty pomelo, but she seems to be enjoying the combination from Terence Cao's Sibay Shiok. And check out the succulent pincer she’s holding — it’s half the size of her face. Will she still have room for carbs?

Allan Wu
What he ate: All things lobster
Yummy factor: A lunch date at Burger & Lobster with his daughter Sage saw Allan indulging in a hearty crustacean-centric menu — think thick burgers, brioche rolls and kale and quinoa salad with chunks of Atlantic lobster meat.

You Yi
What she ate: Sushi
Yummy factor: You Yi literally ate her way to greater heights with the Kaidan set from Takeshi-San, where she got the aburi mentai and salmon option, along with a crab meat sakura roll wrapped in the sweetest pink soybean paper. Oh, and she also got to sip on sake in the cutest cup — it’s designed to look as if there’s a mini koi swimming in it.

Zed Lee
What he ate: Grilled squid
Yummy factor: We were privy to Zed’s culinary talent this week, thanks to mama Fann Wong’s post on Instagram. It seems like he took it upon himself to grill some juicy baby squids on a hot plate, as well as a slab of fish for good measure. Of course, he couldn't wait dig into his own handiwork.

Yvonne Lim
What she ate: Local favourites
Yummy factor: With culinary skills like Yvonne’s, the taste of home is always within reach. This time, she whipped up her favourite local dishes like satay, curry chicken and fried cereal prawns for a gathering with friends in Taiwan. Legit.

Desmond Tan
What he ate: Candlelit dinner
Yummy factor: Desmond commemorated Earth Hour with a romantic candlelit dinner at home — never mind that it was a quick meal before he had to rush off for work. His bowl of Japanese yakitori, chunky meat balls and onsen egg over rice still looked delicious.

Hazelle Teo
What she ate: Colourful hotpot
Yummy factor: Hazelle and Tay Ying decided to check out hotpot resto Yanxi Palace on a rainy day and were duly rewarded with a comforting meal. Into their boiling broth went skewers of candy-shaped seafood paste, otah in the form of multi-coloured “roses”, plenty of seafood like scallops, abalone, crayfish, and more.

Yasminne Cheng
What she ate: Cookie “nuggets”
Yummy factor: April’s Fool came early for Yasminne, who was pranked with cookie brand Nasty Cookie’s golden crisp “nuggets” and “curry” sauce by the Muttons. Well, as it turns out, they are actually good ol’ chocolate chip cookies paired with speculoos sauce. Still delicious.

Hong Huifang
What she ate: Peranakan high tea
Yummy factor: There were no Monday Blues for Huifang who got to tuck into three tiers of Peranakan bites at Straits Chinese Nonya Restaurant. Think kueh pie tee, fried ngoh hiang and what appears to be rempah udang wrapped in banana leaves. We hear they have an Impossible meat version of the ngoh hiang.

Alfred Sim and Tay Kewei
What they ate: Crispy tendon at Tendon Ginza Itsuki
Yummy factor: Their intense spin class must’ve left Alfred and Kewei famished, because both of them looked like they couldn’t wait to devour their heaping bowls of tendon. Looks like they opted for the mixed tendon which features tempura prawns, chicken, egg, and vegetables.

Kimberly Chia
What she ate: Curry puffs
Yummy factor: Kim spent Sunday making a delicious batch of homemade curry puffs and shared them with her Live Your Dreams co-stars, including Elisabeth Lee and Ferlyn Wong. Bursting at the seams with curried potatoes and hard boiled egg, the latter loved the fried snack so much that she wolfed down two at a go.

Nurul Aini
What she ate: Buffet
Yummy factor: Nurul tried out the Ramadan specials at buffet restaurant Carousel, and she couldn’t be more impressed. Well, thank goodness for that, because she skipped lunch so she could indulge at dinner. Her top picks? The lobster mee soto (each serving comes with half a lobster), nasi ambeng, and waffles with chendol ice cream.

Chen Xiuhuan
What she ate: Dim sum brunch
Yummy factor: Instead of busying herself in the kitchen, Xiuhuan stashed away her apron and sat down for a leisurely dim sum brunch at the swanky Yan Ting instead. There, she indulged in Cantonese eats with an atas twist, such as siew mai topped with caviar, har gao stuffed with foie gras and a refreshing mango dessert.

Pan Lingling
What she ate: Char kway teow
Yummy factor: Thanks to Zoe Tay's recommendation, Lingling headed down to Teck Ghee Square for some solid char kway teow with plenty of cockles and wok hei. And according to her, the treat from Bendemeer Fresh Cockles Fried Kway Teow was really yummy.

Nick Shen
What he ate: Roti prata
Yummy factor: Calories clearly weren’t on Nick’s mind while indulging in his sumptuous breakfast of roti prata and ondeh ondeh coated with shredded coconut — not that it’s a bad thing. And at least he opted for Milo kosong to balance things out.

Tong Bingyu
What she ate: High tea
Yummy factor: Bingyu spent an afternoon at Mandarin Oriental in Kuala Lumpur enjoying thematic high tea fare, and the collaborative menu with designers Noritake and Celest Thoi features Japan-inspired sweets on the prettiest pastel-hued tableware. We've got our eye on the lychee rose macarons, green tea azuki vanilla rolls, and mochi snow skin raspberry cheesecake.

Bonnie Loo
What she ate: Cafe fare
Yummy factor: From her gorgeous cuppa decorated with dried butterfly pea flowers to her hearty sandwich and sinful waffle drenched in chocolate sauce, there were plenty of reasons for Bonnie to smile during her yummy lunch.
