Foodie Friday: What The Stars Ate This Week (Apr 17-24)
All the photos that made us hungry this week.

Home chefs unite! This week, Zed Zed has been hard at work baking his own pizzas with mama Fann Wong; Romeo Tan had a sizzling time; and Desmond Tan whipped himself up a happy meal. Meanwhile, Felicia Chin got creative with her omelette, and Pierre Png has been well-fed, thanks to wifey Andrea De Cruz.

Fann Wong and Zed Lee
What they ate: Mini pizzas
Yummy factor: Zed Zed has been busy kneading dough and making his own pizzas at home with mama Fann, and has been pretty successful. Well, one tip though — we wouldn’t put the uncooked flour in our mouth if we were you, Zed!

Paige Chua, Desmond Tan and Zhang Zetong
What they ate: Happy food... well, kinda
Yummy factor: Nothing like some happy food to cheer you up during these trying times, though we'd choose Desmond's Nutella-slathered crepe over fruit and yogurt bowls anytime. P/S: Anyone else thinks Paige's brekkie looks like the Joker?

Chen Xiuhuan
What she ate: Pig trotter bee hoon
Yummy factor: A mountain of pig trotter bee hoon makes for a satisfying and hearty lunch, especially if you’re as generous as Xiuhuan with the canned braised trotters.

Romeo Tan
What he ate: Pan-fried salmon
Yummy factor: Homebound Romeo got his heart-friendly dose of omega-3 fatty acids and protein with a thick slab of pan-fried salmon. Nice.

Jamie Yeo
What she ate: Bone-in steak
Yummy factor: Clearly, Jamie’s whopping 1.2kg whisky-aged wagyu tomahawk steak from Opus Bar & Grill was too delish for her son, Luke, to resist — look at him go at it! The little man is growing up way too fast.

Felicia Chin
What she ate: Leek omelette and mixed berries
Yummy factor: Feli’s getting her immunity-boosting vitamins in with her wholesome leek omelette accompanied by berries — for a splash of colours and antioxidants.

Qi Yuwu
What he ate: Roast pork belly
Yummy factor: What better way to make use of his rare free time than to try doing something new? The avid home cook tried his hands at making roast pork — a Cantonese-style version as well as a Western-style one. Was it a success? Here’s what happened.

Evelyn Tan
What she ate: Milk pudding
Yummy factor: Evelyn managed to perfect the art of making milk pudding, and has her slice of rainbow to show for. If you’re interested in the recipe, she’s saved it in her Instagram Story highlights, along with lots of helpful tips. Can't wait to try it this weekend.

Vernetta Lopez
What she ate: “Chicken” rice
Yummy factor: Skipping carbs in hopes of revealing a slimmer self after the circuit breaker? Take a leaf out of Vernetta’s cook book — she made vegetarian chicken rice with cauliflower and Quorn chicken cubes (a meat substitute). Even her chilli sauce was made from scratch — yummy!

Hazelle Teo
What she ate: Personalised cupcakes
Yummy factor: Staying home hasn’t stopped the TTYL ladies from celebrating Hazelle’s birthday (Apr 20) together — well, kind of. Tay Ying, Denise Camillia Tan and Kayly Loh had a party on Zoom, and surprised her with a dozen personalised cupcakes delivered to her doorstep. And in case you were wondering, yes — all of their faces including Hazelle’s — are printed on the cupcakes.

Michelle wong
What she ate: Makeshift dan dan noodles
Yummy factor: The circuit breaker is seriously bringing out the cook in this avid baker — check out Michelle’s homemade noodles (complete with Hai Di Lao-style noodle dance) and perfect sunny side up on top. She even concocted her own dan dan noodle sauce to go with it! Recipe in her Instagram Story highlights.

Rebecca lim
What she ate: Sourdough sandwiches
Yummy factor: Rebecca learnt the art of breadmaking from her siblings, and the fast learner made her own loaf of sourdough from scratch — perfect with poached eggs and fresh greens for breakfast with the fam.

Xu Bin
What he ate: Hotpot
Yummy factor: Now that he’s got plenty of time for leisurely meals, Xu Bin decided give himself a cheat day and indulge in a spicy hotpot meal at home. It’s okay, there’s always a home workout to follow on Instagram tomorrow.

Pierre Png
What he ate: Cake in a cup
Yummy factor: Guinea pig or lucky man? We think it’s the latter — Pierre has been indulging in all of wifey Andrea De Cruz’s culinary creations, including a decadent chocolate mug cake that she whipped up in five minutes.

Yvonne Lim
What she ate: Gimbap
Yummy factor: Yvonne learnt how to make gimbap — the Korean version of sushi rolls — and we love how appetising they look, thanks to colourful ingredients like carrots, pickled radish, spinach, and more. In fact, Yvonne couldn’t resist snacking on a strip of pickled radish whilst wrapping the gimbap.

Pan Lingling and Huang Shinan
What they ate: Tomyam seafood spaghetti
Yummy factor: The sporting couple did their first Instagram Live session together, alongside Ben Yeo, and shared their tried-and-tested recipes for tomyam seafood spaghetti and baked fish. We don’t know about you, but we can’t wait to try whipping them up ourselves.

Jean Danker
What she ate: Steak and lobsters
Yummy factor: T’was a steak, lobsters and wine night for Jean, who had saved precious tummy space for her yummy feast. We hope she shared it with hubby Glenn Ong — the spread looks way too generous as dinner-for-one.

Apple Hong
What she ate: Speculoos brownies
Yummy factor: Jeannette Aw has been busy baking, and Apple’s one of the lucky few to receive the avid baker’s What The Fudge brownies with a caramelised speculoos twist. The verdict? According to Apple, Jeanette, known for her role in The Little Nyonya, makes “ang moh kueh” really well too!

Justin Ang
What he ate: Earthquake in a box
Yummy factor: Talk about a taste of nostalgia... Justin indulged in Swensen’s popular Earthquake sundae, which comes with eight scoops of ice cream and plenty of different toppings. Thank goodness desserts are still available for takeaway and delivery during this period.

Chen Liping
What she ate: Aglio olio
Yummy factor: Honestly, it’s hard to believe that it’s Liping’s first attempt at cooking angel hair pasta. Infused with plenty of aromatic garlic oil, parsley and a sprinkling of pink Himalayan salt, everything about her aglio olio — from the pan-fried prawns to the plating — looks legit.

Rosalyn Lee
What she ate: “Life and death” fish
Yummy factor: If you’ve been a fan of the recipes Rozz has been sharing on her Instagram, you’ll be stoked to find out that she’s embarked on a new Instagram Live series where she teams up with home cooks and professional chefs alike to cook alongside fans. In the first episode, she teamed up with food consultant David Yip to create a steamed fish dish that’s bursting with umami flavour - go check it out!
